First, here is that animated teaser video that Matara shared. It featured her summoning someone.

The official video for the upcoming podcast stream is already online. In the chat, there’s an official announcement that reads, “This is not an April Fools’.” There are no other videos on the new YouTube channel created for this endeavor. Matara and Mint noted that this will probably last for another 10 or so episodes and will likely be temporary.

Mint Fantome is an independent Vtuber who debuted back in July 2020, but then retired in April 2021. In addition to game streams, she also often sang and performed. For example, she did a joke cover of Neil Cicierega’s “Bustin’.” More seriously, here is her cover of the Re:Zero season 1 opening theme song “Redo.”

Meanwhile, Matara Kan has been a Vtuber with VShojo since October 2023. She’s an cockroach woman who often plays games or features chatting streams. She often takes parts in collabs with people both affiliated with the company or who are indepedent. For example, she took part in a March 2024 one with independent Vtuber Quinn Benet.

The Matara Kan and Mint Fantome podcast episodes will air at 12pm PT/3pm ET/7pm UTC every Monday for a limited time. There is also merchandise tied to the podcast series and Vtubers.
