TKGames has released VTuber Home Run Derby, a game in which you compete against a variety of Hololive and Nijisanji VTubers in baseball. You can play it for free on your web browser.
There are six difficulties in the game, with Houshou Marine as the easiest and the first one to challenge. In order to progress through the next level, you must hit a certain quota of home runs. However, you only have a limited number of chances. For example, Houshou Marine will pitch 20 balls at you and you only need to score 7 home runs. But you need to get a home run. Hitting the ball does not add to your score. As you progress through the levels, the VTubers start throwing more difficult and impossible (in real life) balls.
If this sounds familiar to you, then you probably experienced the trenches of Winnie the Pooh’s Home Run Derby. Both games focus only on home runs and the more difficult pitchers are ludicrously unfair. Winnie the Pooh’s Home Run Derby was originally on the Japanese DisneyGames website before it appeared on Yahoo Japan. It went viral in 2012 after years of relative silence due to how intensely difficult it is. Indeed, TKGames even referenced Puniki (the nickname for Winnie the Pooh; combines “Pooh” with “aniki” or “big bro”) in the description for this. Puniki is not a nickname normal people use for Winnie the Pooh; only those who survived to tell the tale of Winnie the Pooh’s Home Run Derby refer to him as that.
VTuber Home Run Derby is available via TKGames’s website. You can also check out their other game, Holo no Suika.
