GungHo Online Entertainment were ahead of the times when they released Picotto Knights for PlayStation Vita. The beat ’em up was one of the few free to play Vita games, now Japanese publishers like Square Enix with Million Arthur, Sega with Chain Chronicle V, and Sony Computer Entertainment with Destiny of Spirits are using that business model. We played Picotto Knights and tried a Famitsu mission.

 

Picotto Knights had crossovers with Gravity Rush and Grandia, but after a year GungHo shut down Picotto Knights. Surprisingly, Picotto Knights is back under the name Picotto Kingdom and it’s for Android.

 

 

The game looks pretty much the same as Picotto Knights, but battles use touchscreen controls instead of a d-pad and buttons on Vita. Picotto Kingdom is out for Android and is slated for release on iOS soon.
