Virtual Console Outlook for Japan in June: Paper Mario and Breath of Fire 2

Nintendo updated the official Virtual Console list for Japan with a list of games that they will be getting next month. Two RPGs are on the list Paper Mario ad Breath of Fire, three if you count Shining in the Darkness which was delayed a month. Paper Mario is coming out at a good time. Two months after Super Paper Mario’s release gamers in Japan are probably done with it, but Nintendo can capitalize on that audience by releasing Paper Mario.

Breath of Fire II is an anomaly since Capcom neglected to release Breath of Fire 1 on the virtual console. Sure the games don’t connect and BoF II is arguably better than Breath of Fire 1. But why did Capcom skip out on releasing Breath of Fire 1 before the sequel? Speaking of sequels, June is Sega Summer sequel month with Ecco the Dolphin 2, Golden Axe 2 and Sonic 2.
