Compile Heart shared new info on its upcoming RPG Varnir of the Dragon Star by its Galapagos RPG brand in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. It has the first details on the game’s battle system. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
The new character is named “Falle” (spelling subject to change) and she’s voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki. No further details were shared on the character, but Famitsu describes her as a tsundere witch.
As for the battle system, it is said that you’ll get to freely move between upper, middle, and lower areas while fighting in the air. The action order is determined by the speed of allies and enemies.
You’ll power up by using Devour skills to eat enemies. When attacking enemies, the success rate can change depending on the “fear meter.” At 100% you can pull off a Consecutive Weak Point Attack Rush.
When taking damage there’s something called the “Dragon Vision” that activates when the meter fills up all the way. This vastly increases abilities/stats and allows you to use special Devour skills. However, when activated with low health there’s a chance of going berserk and it’ll increase the character’s attack and evasion but lowers defense.
Varnir of the Dragon Star releases in Japan on October 11, 2018 for PlayStation 4. Check here for a look at the Falcom collaboration dragons, and here to learn more about its dragons, witches, and the gruesome details on how the dragons are born.
