Indonesian developer Agate Studio has launched a Kickstarter in the hopes of raising $40,000 to create the third in its Valthirian Arc series for Windows, Mac, Linux.

Called Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant, it’s to be a “school simulator” made in the style of a JRPG. The official description goes like this:

You play the principal of an academy, tasked with training your students to save the world, all while finding missing cats, delivering love letters, and helping elderly ladies to cross the road… oh and fighting monsters.

You’ll have to build and manage the school, and help the students to study and train, occasionally promoting them to harder classes towards them graduating. You’ll also need to recruit your best students to complete quests and help those in danger.

It’ll have a real-time battle system in which you have individual control over four students. Each student has their own stats and roles so you’ll need to arrange them in a tactical formation and use an effective mix of spells and skills.

You can play the last game in the Valthirian Arc series in your browser (released in 2013) if you want to get an idea of what the game is all about. You can also vote for Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant on Steam Greenlight.
