Utawarerumono PC Announcement Will Come in January

It seems more Utawarerumono PC games are in our future. Shiravune, the publisher who helped bring Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth to Steam teased a new reveal on Twitter. On January 7, 2021, we’ll know what’s coming next for the series.

At the moment, people interested in the series have only two entries available on PCs worldwide. That’s the two-part sequel to the original game, which appeared outside Japan in 2020 as Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen. NIS America localized the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions, while Shiravune and DMM Games are on deck to handle the PC release.

Should that January announcement involve its release window, then that will mean only one localized game in the series isn’t available on the PC. That would be Utawarerumono Zan, the beat’em up currently available on the PlayStation 4. It retells the story of Haku, the amnesiac found by Kuon, and follows him as he ends up playing a huge part in battles between nations.

For those looking to catch up, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth are both part of the Steam Winter Sale. Each one is 50% off until January 5, 2021, bringing the price down to $19.99 each. (If you are buying both at once, it is cheaper to go with the 55% off bundle that costs $35.98.)

Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is available on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC in Japan and on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita worldwide.
