Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth Anime Adaptation Announced

Aquaplus announced an anime adaptation of Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth during the Utawarerumono 20th anniversary livestream. It is in production and scheduled to air in July 2022. Additionally, the broadcast showed a short trailer for the Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth anime. While relatively short, it features key moments from the game as they will appear in the animated adaptation. An archived version of the broadcast was previously available to watch through YouTube. At the time of writing, YouTube has it listed as private.

The animated adaptation of Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth will arrive some 6 years after the release of the Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception adaptation. Additionally, the broadcast revealed several key characters that will appear in the animated adaptation. This includes Anju, Nekone, and Haku. Raiko also appeared during the trailer.

In January 2021, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth were delisted from the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 online stores. However, the title is immediately available on PC through the Steam storefront.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth is immediately available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.
