As part of the June 8, 2022 Netflix Geeked Week announcements, the company revealed a Japanese launch window for its Uncle from Another World anime. As the title suggests, Uncle from Another World shows the after effects of someone who took part in an isekai experience. Takafumi Takaoka’s uncle, Kousuke, was in a coma for 17 years. Except while he was, he was in a fantasy world. Takafumi helps him adapt to modern life, while also learning what Kousuke’s travels were like. He also learns his uncle became one of the most powerful mages in existence as a result of his journey.

Netflix’s announcement also included a number of stills from the Uncle from Another World anime adaptation. The first trailer appeared back in March 2021.

Uncle from Another World will come to Netflix in Japan in July 2022, and the anime will appear in other regions “soon.” It is possible to catch up with the series ahead of its anime debut. The manga is available in English. Yen Press picked it up.
