A second Phantasy Star Online 2 beta is about to begin for Xbox One players, and this time it will be open to everyone. However, while preparing for the next phase in the MMORPG’s progress, Sega has stepped back with a bit of a review. It looked back at some notable accomplishments and details from the Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta, even revealing that two players managed to hit level 75.
The most notable stat looked at how many people managed to hit certain level plateaus. Only two Arks, which are people, managed to hit level 75 in a class. Most people, at 73.60%, stayed under level 20. For proper context, those people hit by playing between only February 7-9, 2020. Another important detail is that progress from the Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta will carry over, so people who hit these hallmarks maintain that level.
In addition to the levels, Sega shared Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta graphs looking at other stats. For example, the human race was the most popular overall. However, more men chose to be human than any other race at 24.30%. The most popular race among women was Newman at 12.60%. (Newman was the least popular race overall.)
A graph showing the percentage of classes picked during the Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta were also shared. Hunters were most popular at 24.30%, though Bravers came close at 22.20%. The least popular was the Techter at 1.10%, with the Fighter coming in at 2.10% and Gunner at 2.50%.
As for people’s experience with the series, most people had some knowledge of it before heading into this test. Most players had played Phantasy Star Universe, with 19.19% saying they went through it. Phantasy Star Online was a close second at 18.81%. However, for 6.89% of folks, this was their first Phantasy Star experience.
Finally, Sega asked how many people planned to play the full game after the Phantasy Star Online 2 closed beta. Only 0.16% said no. 55% said they would play on the Xbox One and PC, 37% said they would stick with the Xbox One version, and 8% committed to eventually playing on the PC.
The Phantasy Star Online 2 beta will begin on March 17, 2020, and people with the closed beta client can update and use it for it. The game will also head to the PC in North America and other platforms.
