Treebeast Alento Weaknesses in Metaphor: ReFantazio

After you use the Potion of Blight to gain access to the Dragon Temple in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’ll immediately enter a fight against the Treebeast Alento. It isn’t too difficult an opponent, but it’s helpful to cover its one major weakness.

How do I beat the Treebeast Alento in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Head to the Dragon Temple after you got the Potion of Blight solution. Walk up to the tree blocking the entrance. You’ll get a prompt to use the item Edeni made for you. Do so, and you’ll discover that isn’t an ordinary tree. It’s actually an opponent. A fight will immediately ensue.

The key to defeating this opponent is fire. The Treebeast Alento enemy in Metaphor: ReFantazio counts that as its only major weakness. You can use standard physical attacks, such as Pierce ones, if you’re in a pinch. But using fire is the fastest way to take this level 40 opponent down.

One thing that is important is to avoid holy and dark type attacks. It will take half damage from spells like Hama or Mudo.

Here’s a screenshot I took of its weaknesses when I fought it:

Once the fight is over, you’ll gain access to the next dungeon. You’ll also get a Sun White Mask that you can use at More’s to create a new mask for the Masked Dancer Archetype.

Also, note that later in this dungeon you’ll see this enemy and a new variant of it appear. However, by that point you’ll likely be so strong that you can defeat it while exploring and not have to enter a turn-based battle to beat it.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a demo available.
