Touch screen controls in Tengai Makyou II: Manji Maru DS

No Tengai Makyou (Far East of Eden) game has been remade as many times as Tengai Makyou II. It originally came out on the TurboGrafx-CD then it was released on the Gamecube and then on the PS2. Hudson is bringing Tengai Makyou II: Manji Maru out one more time for the Nintendo DS. The DS version has a new way to select attacks during fights by using the touch screen. First you tap your enemy then you draw out your attack. A quick horizontal line over your enemy deals a weak attack, a curved line does medium damage and if you draw a lightning bolt you’re going to do a heavy attack. Another impressive feature is that Tengai Makyou II: Manji Maru is going to have voiceovers. There is a lot of text in the game for Hudson to cram into a single DS cart, so it isn’t clear if select scenes are going to have voices or the whole game (unlikely?). Last year Hudson expressed interest in bringing Far East of Eden Ziria for the 360 to the US. If they pull it off and Ziria sells well there’s a good chance that Tengai Makyou II will come out in the future. See some more screenshots of the DS remake past the break.
