A Steam product page has appeared for ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove, the Humanature Studios game that picks up where ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth left off. It suggests the PC game will let people help ToeJam and Earl survive Earth, rebuilding their rocket along the way, in 2017.

The premise of ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove is similar to the original game. ToeJam and Earl took Lamont’s Rapmaster Rocketship so they could go riding with Latisha and Lewanda. Earl accidentally presses the Black Hole button, causing the ship to explode. The group, accompanied by other characters like GeekJam, Peabo, and Flo, Earl’s mom, need to collect all of the rocket ship parts either alone or with a friend. Local and online cooperative multiplayer is supported, with up to four people able to play together in the campaign or Hyperfunk Zone. Levels are randomly generated, and you can look down to catch a sneak peek at the next one. There are 26 songs, 13 of them remakes. New Earthlings, presents, hats, terrain types, and secret areas will also be present.

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove’s Kickstarter launched on February 25, 2015. 8,873 people contributed $508,637 to the project.
