Aniplex announced that the movie Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] III.spring song has sold over one million tickets to surpass 1.6 billion yen in sales since opening last month in Japan. [Thanks, 4Gamer.]
To be more specific, the third movie in the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy has sold a total of 1,002,202 tickets as of September 19, 2020. The film reached the milestone four days earlier than the previous film, Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] II. lost butterfly, which released in Japan in January 2019 and in the United States in March 2019. As for sales, the third movie has made 1,624,840,400 yen (roughly $15.5 million USD), which is about 10% more than the second film.
When the first movie from the trilogy released in Japan in October 2017, it saw a strong debut of 248,000 tickets sold across 128 theaters and sales of over 413 million yen in the Japanese weekend box office. The film went on to earn 1.5 billion yen (roughly $13.5 million USD). The second film was another commercial success that debuted with 363,080 tickets sold and grossed over 600 million yen in its opening weekend. It also reached the 1.5 billion yen milestone faster than the first film. The film would go on to gross $19.79 million USD worldwide.
Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] III.spring song premiered in Japan on August 15, 2020. The movie was expected to debut in the U.S. in April 2020, but it was delayed due to the global pandemic.
