There Will Be 4 Castlevania Anniversary Collection Physical Editions

It’s a bit delayed, but the Castlevania Anniversary Collection physical releases are on the way. Originally scheduled to launch in 2020, Limited Run Games announced four editions of the Switch and PS4 releases. Pre-orders will open for them at 7am PT/10am ET May 14, 2021. As these aren’t limited runs, they will be open for an extended period.

The most basic physical copies will be standard versions for the Switch and PS4. However, there will be incrementally bigger and more expensive Castlevania Anniversary Collection physical copies to choose from when orders open.

Both the Bloodlines and Classic Editions of Castlevania Anniversary Collection will be $59.99 each. They’re rather similar, with the packaging being the main difference. The Bloodlines version gives people the soundtrack, game, and a reversible poster designed by Tom duBois. That’s all in a Genesis sort of “deluxe clamshell case.” If you go with Classic, you get the same items in an NES-like “retro box” and NES-style dust sleeve instead of the clamshell case.

As for the Ultimate Edition, it is $174.99, includes everything from the Bloodlines and Classic editions, and adds additional items. For example, you also get a shadow box with music from the series and lights, three retro box art prints, a steelbook case, mini replicas of the boxes for the eight games in the collection, a History of Castlevania: Book of the Crescent Moon book, and an enamel pin of the series’ logo.
