In the various Mario and Sonic Olympic games, there are often Dream Events. These are more unusual events that aren’t exactly accurate depictions of Olympic sports and can have special locations or elements taken from actual Super Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog games. It turns out, there will be three Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Dream Events: Dream Karate, Dream Racing, and Dream Shooting.

Each one plays slightly differently than you’d expect. Dream Karate takes place on a board with panels, and you want to knock enemies onto them to change them to your color. The side with the most panels of their color at the end, wins. In Dream Racing, people race on a hoverboard course. Finally, Dream Shooting has you shooting kites in a Japanese manor.

Here is a trailer looking at the Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Dream Events. It begins with a look at Dream Racing. Then, it moves on to Dream Shooting. After that, there is Dream Karate.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will appear on the Nintendo Switch in the Americas on November 5, 2019 and in Europe on November 8, 2019. In addition to the Dream Events, there will be 10 Retro Events.
