Prologue Games will be bringing out the first act of its episodic “swamp noir” adventure Knee Deep in June. It focuses on characters, storytelling, and the melodrama of swampland Florida.
It’ll have you playing as three different characters as they investigate the suicide of a washed-up actor who hanged himself in the Florida swampland of Cypress Knee. The three characters you play as are as follows: cheeky blogger Romana Teague, down-and-out local reporter Jack Bellet, and cynical private investigator K.C. Gaddis.
The suicide is your entryway into a conspiracy in the “magical reality” of Cypress Knee. You’ll need to uncover it by questioning people (sometimes via text message), solving puzzles, and examining the environment to gain clues. However, you do need to be careful as the decisions you make could lead to more people getting hurt.
What’s even more interesting about Knee Deep is that it’s set on a theatrical stage. As you move between scenes, you see the props and set pieces moved around while the music and lighting also changes in tone accordingly.
You can pre-order all three acts of Knee Deep on its website for the discounted price of $19.99 (full price is $24.99). The acts will also be sold separately.
