One of Japan’s unusual WiiWare titles comes from Cybird and its based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Yeah, we’re talking about the classic children’s picture book.
Very Hungry Caterpillar’s ABC is a English training game for kids based on Carle’s work. Cybrid’s game is designed to teach players the alphabet, words, and the names of animals. Animal illustrations were also provided by Carle. Very Hungry Caterpillar’s ABC is actually a base pack and it costs 800 Wii Points ($8). Additional packs with more words and forest/sea animals costs 700 Wii Points ($7) a piece.
If you’re reading this you probably know your ABCs, which means the game isn’t for you. But, as a digital tribute Very Hungry Caterpillar’s ABC is neat little title. Also, it looks like Japanese developers are starting to target the Baby Einstein demographic. This isn’t the only Wii title geared for preschoolers. Konami adapted their TV storybook device for Wii and a Nintendo patent we uncovered revealed possible edutainment plans.
