Another Sonic the Hedgehog movie tidbit has been shared. This time, it’s about the music. Rather than bring back Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which was in the original trailer, an original song has been shared. Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child perform “Speed Me Up” for the movie.
The official Sonic movie “Speed Me Up” music video was shared alongside the reveal. In it, we see Khalifa playing Sonic the Hedgehog on the original Sega Genesis, until Sonic uses one of the golden ring portals to bring him into the game with him. The original animated segments are interspersed with scenes from the movie, like Sonic playing baseball with himself.
This is only the most recent Sonic movie revelation. As of late, there have been other announcements. For example, one is that baby Sonic will make an appearance in the film. We also learned that Junichi Kanemaru, who is known as Sonic in Japan, won’t be voicing him in the movie in that region. Also, it isn’t related to the movie, but Sega has revealed a Sonic 2020 initiative that will bring new announcements on the 20th of every month this year.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie will launch in North America on February 14, 2020 and in Japan on March 27, 2020.
