SNK announced the most famous samurai in Guilty Gear will join Samurai Shodown as DLC, as Baiken is on the way. She will join the cast of the SNK game on August 19, 2021. To help people prepare for this long-teased fighter, there’s also a trailer showing how she works in-game.
Baiken will be voiced by Mayumi Asano, who also played the character in the Xrd games. While she is known for using a katana, she also has an array of other weapons hidden up her sleeves.
Ironically, while Baiken will be in Samurai Shodown, she isn’t in the latest Guilty Gear game. She didn’t show up in Guilty Gear Strive at launch. However, characters in the first season pass for the game are rolling out, so she could join Goldlewis and Jack-O.
Baiken is the final character in Season Pass 3. In this latest round of Samurai Shodown DLC, Cham Cham, The Last Blade’s Hibiki Takane, and Shiro Tokisada Amakusa were also added to the game.
Samurai Shodown is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, and PC, and Guilty Gear’s Baiken will arrive as DLC on August 19, 2021.
