Microsoft has filed for a trademark for a new logo that looks like it could be for the next Xbox. The Xbox Series X logo Justia Trademarks page is now online. It was filed on April 16, 2020 for goods and services like video game consoles, video games, entertainment services, clothing, and other items. Microsoft has not yet officially revealed or confirmed it as being official.
What’s notable about this is a deviation from current logos. Both the Xbox general logo, which you can see on the right, and Xbox One logo have the familiar X applied to a sphere, with Xbox or Xbox One next to it. Likewise, the original Xbox and Xbox 360 logos followed this pattern. This potential Xbox Series X logo has an X with the word “series” to the left of it.
Perhaps an official Xbox Series X logo reveal could come up during Microsoft’s next Xbox Series X announcement. The company has been rather open about the system as of late. It brought up the system’s name at The Game Awards 2019. That’s also when its Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II game was revealed. We’ve also learned more about what’s under the hood over the last few months.
The Xbox Series X is set to launch in 2020.
