The trailer focuses on the three protagonists of this game, returning heroes Lloyd and Rean and the newcomer, Swin. Each of these three characters will have their own chapters. Lloyd’s chapter takes place back in Crossbell, which is regaining its independence. Meanwhile, Rean has gone back to teaching at the Thors Branch Academy, but a new mystery comes up to solve. Finally Swin and three other characters are an independent group that are currently investigating the Imperial Defense Force.

Hajimari no Kiseki will act as something of an epilogue to the events in the Trails of Cold Steel series and tie up loose ends across the entire saga up until now. Dozens of characters will appear and be playable in the three stories, and sometimes the characters will crossover into other plot lines.

It will also have the True Reverie Corridor. This will be a place where all three parties can meet up. As you explore, you could unlock side episodes and minigames.

The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki will be released for the PlayStation 4 in Japan and Asia on August 27, 2020.
