The COVID-19 coronavirus has resulted in various game delays, and now Sony has some updates on when people can expect to see certain major PlayStation 4 games. First, there’s a new The Last of Us Part II release date. It will appear on June 19, 2020 worldwide. Then, The Ghost of Tsushima release date will follow almost exactly one month later. It will show up everywhere on July 17, 2020.
When announcing the change in release dates, Sony cited adjustments to new working styles. This was in reference to the decision of multiple companies to work-from-home to honor shelter-in-place orders designed to help flatten the curve and control the spread of the pandemic.
Originally, The Last of Us Part II had a February 21, 2020 release date. That was bumped back to May 29, 2020 in October 2019, just about a month after Sony offered the original release date. Then, in the beginning of April 2020, Sony noted that the pandemic had resulted in both this game and Iron Man VR being delayed.
As for The Ghost of Tsushima, this is the game’s first delay. Back in March 2020, Sony said it would end up launching on June 26, 2020.
People will be able to get The Last of Us Part II for the PlayStation 4 on June 19, 2020, followed by The Ghost of Tsushima on July 17, 2020.
