Bandai Namco will reveal gameplay details for The Idolmaster SideM: Growing Stars through a live stream. The broadcast will air on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 20:00~21:30 JST (7 AM ~ 8:30 AM ET). [Thanks, DenFamiNico Gamer!]
Yozo Sakagami, the general producer of The Idolmaster metaseries, will appear to announce the game details with Masashi Mimoto. The stream will also feature Takuma Terashima and Shugo Nakamura, the voice actors of the series’ idols Toma Amagase and Teru Tendo.
Growing Stars was announced back in March 2021. However, the teaser announcement barely revealed anything other than the logo and thanked the idol producers (players) for keeping the SideM series active. After around two and a half months of silence, Bandai Namco will finally reveal The Idolmaster SideM: Growing Stars through the upcoming live stream.
SideM is a sub-series in The Idolmaster franchise that focuses on male idols. It started with the social card game on the Japanese Mobage platform in 2014. The series also currently has a 3D mobile game titled Live On St@ge!, that’s been live since August 2017. However, Bandai Namco scaled down operations for the 3D game in January 2021. The company will ultimately shut down Live On St@ge! in the near future, as it shifts its focus towards the new Growing Stars.
The Idolmaster SideM: Growing Stars is currently under development for Android and iOS mobile devices.
