The first Kickstarter update of 2020 for Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro’s The Good Life is now available. It shows off some of the game’s new lighting visual effects.
The Good Life is set in a rural British town called Rainy Woods. With that sort of location in mind, a lot of the effects aren’t particularly flashy. However, the further you progress in the game, the more you can expect to experience some “surprising effects.” We have to play the game to find out the extent of such unusual and otherworldly elements..
Images were also shared showing the effects creation process, and more details will arrive in a February 2020 update.
Described as a “daily life action-adventure game,” The Good Life follows a New York journalist named Naomi, who moves to Rainy Woods in Britain in order to pay off her debts. To do so, you can pick up photography jobs in your new hometown. The other main objective in the game is to solve a murder that has taken place in the town. If that’s not mysterious enough, you and your other townsfolk can also turn into cats or dogs.
The Good Life will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It made ¥81,030,744 (~$744,186) from 12,613 backers. The game was previously delayed to a Spring 2020.
