When NieR Re[in]carnation was announced, we got a glimpse of a girl who some speculated to be Kainé from NieR. Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito say it isn’t the case in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

Here are some tidbits from the Famitsu interview:
- The girl is not Kainé. Just what made you think that?
- The thing that looks like a small ghost floating behind is named ‘Mama’. It is kind of like a mother who takes care of you.
- Yoko Taro: “There’s a number of protagonists.”
- Yosuke Saito: “There are many.”
Ryokutya2089 also noted that the issue of Famitsu includes gravure shots of cosplayer Enako cosplaying 2B and photographed by Yoko Taro, and it is chaotic.
NieR Re[in]carnation is in development for Apple iOS and Android. We still don’t know much about the game, but you can check out beautiful landscapes and more in a recent gameplay trailer in our previous report.
