The Caligula Effect Fourth Anniversary Celebrated With a Teaser Illustration

Aquria’s RPG The Caligula Effect first released four years ago on this day in Japan for the PS Vita. Publisher FuRyu shared a special illustration for its 4th anniversary along with a little teaser for what’s next.

The special 4th anniversary illustration was drawn by The Caligula Effect character designer Oguchi. A message also came accompanied alongside the illustration saying that the developers are working hard to show everyone what awaits beyond this ‘door’.

While we didn’t get a new game announcement, FuRyu announced a new Ostinato CD album. Thanks to all the fan demand, it will include three new songs added in the remake, The Caligula Effect: Overdose.  It will include songs sung by Lucid (CV: Chiharu Sawashiro), Stork (CV: Shugo Nakamura), and Kuchinashi (CV: Himika Akaneya).

The Caligula Effect 4th Anniversary teaserFurthermore, we got a new stage play announcement. This will be the first Caligula series stage play. The play will be based on The Caligula Effect: Overdose, and will take premiere in Japan in January 2021.

Lastly, producer Takuya Yamanaka reiterated that the developers are working hard so they can have something new to show us for the 5th anniversary.

The Caligula Effect first released for the PlayStation Vita in Japan on June 23, 2016. It followed with a North American and European release in May 2017. The Caligula Effect: Overdose debuted in Japan in May 2018 for the PlayStation 4. It released worldwide on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in March 2019.
