NIS America announced The Caligula Effect 2 will also be heading to the PS5. The company revealed the JRPG from FuRyu will show up on the console in Fall 2023. An exact release date isn’t available yet, but physical copies will also be available for $49.99. There’s also a reminder trailer to help people see what’s going on.
As in the original The Caligula Effect Overdose, The Caligula Effect 2 will involve PS5 owners being stuck in a virtual world with a sort of AI Vocaloid virtuadoll called Regret in charge of it. Everyone within is essentially in high school forever. Your avatar will join the Go-Home Club to try and end this simulation, though Regret’s Obbligato Musicians will attempt to stop you.
This means both The Caligula Effect games will be on the system by the time 2023 ends. Back in February 2023, NIS America announced a The Caligula Effect Overdose port. That will launch on the system on May 30, 2023, so people would have enough time to likely finish the first game ahead of the second.
The Caligula Effect 2 will come to the PS5 in Fall 2023, and it is immediately available on the PS4, Switch, and PC.
