Both The Bount and The Assault Bleach seasons are, honestly, not as critical to the overall continuity and storyline. That’s because both of these seasons are filler arcs. While Tite Kubo was working on the Bleach manga’s storyline, this anime-exclusive storyline was created.

The Bleach The Bount storyline follows a new threat: humans who steal human souls to live extended lives known as Bounts. In this first part, Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Chad, and Renji work alongside Urahara’s Bount detectors Ririn, Kurodo, and Noba to begin to fight against Jin Kariya and his Bount forces. The Assault storyline continues this fight in Soul Society, after the way was opened for the Bount to be fought there. Due to the Soul Society’s environment, they are actually a greater threat there, and it is up to Ichigo, his allies, and the Shinigami to fight back.

As a reminder, previous seasons are available as part of the Bleach Netflix offerings. There is also the live-action movie from Warner Bros there, which stars Sota Fukushi, Hana Sugisaki, and even Japanese rock star Miyavi. The new Bleach anime series will begin airing in 2021, while the Burn the Witch spin-off will appear in Fall 2020.
