Above you can see Lilith, the Mother of Demons, who is to be a new playable character in the upcoming “Afterbirth” update for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. One thing you may notice about Lilith is that she wears a blindfold to cover up her gouged-out eyes. How, then, does she fire tears? She doesn’t.
In a development update, the game’s creator Edmund McMillen revealed that Lilith will have a “new way of attacking,” but didn’t reveal what this method would be. He did, however, state that Lilith comes with three starting weapons that make her very different to other characters, and that she will “come with an item that will reward strategic planning to maximize her potential.”
McMillen also revealed that Afterbirth will introduce larger L-shaped rooms to the game along with hundreds of new room layouts. “There were a few features from rebirth that were added late in dev that i didnt explore much, one of those is ‘room weight’ or room rarity.. i hope to make more than a few very really unique rooms,” he wrote.
More updates as to what else will be added with the Afterbirth update are expected soon.
