It’s that time again! The Steam Next Fest is on, and that means there are tons of cool demos of upcoming games to try out. Too many, really. Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

This spicy-hot remake of Square Enix’s classic 16-bit JRPG is incoming on October 25th, but why not get an early start? This is one of those demos where you can carry your progress over to the full game, so there’s no reason not to give it a shot. The development team has gone the extra mile to make this somewhat complex game more accessible. You can see the fruits of that by trying out this one for yourself. One of the best Steam Next Fest JRPG demos, and looking to be a JRPG highlight in a year that has been full of them.

Ys X: Nordics

Ys X Nordics

Another game that is just around the corner, Ys X: Nordics chronicles the latest adventure of Adol Christin. This time around, he teams up with a pirate named Karja and embarks on a sea-spanning quest. I don’t think it’s a great idea to ride a boat with Adol, but what do I know? This is looking to be another fantastic installment in the legendary series. The demo will give you a nice taste of what you can look forward to in the full game, which is due to arrive on October 26th.

New Arc Line

New Arc Line

New Arc Line uses a technopunk fantasy theme, but its tactical turn-based combat should scratch the itch of JRPG fans. It goes for a heavy emphasis on story, casting you as a new arrival in a foreign land. You’re searching for a cure to the fatal disease that has afflicted your family. Unfortunately, you’re going to find more than you bargained for. This game is very promising, and you can give it a try yourself right now with this Steam Next Fest demo.

Botworld Odyssey

Botworld Odyssey

Here’s one for the creature-collecting fans out there. You won’t be catching creatures in this one, however. Instead, you’ll be assembling a team of powerful bots to aid you in your journey. You get to explore a big world with plenty of things to see and secrets to uncover. When it comes time to throw down, your bots will automatically do their thing while you plan on when to unleash support abilities. It’s a refreshing, vibrant spin on the genre, and the demo will give you a tantalizing sample of what it has to offer.

Neon Blood

Neon Blood

It’s the year 2053. The city of Viridis plays host to two halves. Bright City is where the upper class lives in luxury, while Blind City is a dangerous place where people scrape to survive. The peace between these two sides is fragile, and it’s about to be shattered. A former police detective named Axel McCoin finds himself at the center of all of this. This game has a slick look and the turn-based battles feel like a familiar pair of slippers. Check out the demo and see the sights of Viridis yourself.
