Tetsuya Nomura Reminds Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Players About Spoiler Warnings

Square Enix released the guidelines for anyone who may be live streaming or sharing screenshots from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and the company and Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura reminded players that they requested spoiler warnings be used. Other than that, they are relatively relaxed compared to ones for other games

Essentially, the official site originally noted that individual users in Australia, the US, and UK can use game materials, though the digital art book and mini soundtrack canā€™t be shared online. People can stream on sites like Twitch and YouTube and share on social media. As usual for Square Enix games, the company asked for streams and posts to note the trademark information, ā€œĀ© SQUARE ENIX

As for the streaming, Nomura noted in his statement that there are no ā€œrecordā€ or ā€œshareā€ restrictions on a system-wide level, so everything could be captured or recorded. This is why he and the company are requesting spoiler warnings be used on all created material and that thumbnails donā€™t include images with heavy spoilers.

Here is Tetsuya Nomuraā€™s full statement regarding the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth live streaming and screenshot guidelines, including regarding the spoiler warnings.

The launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is nearly here, with only seven days to go. Our livestreaming and content sharing guidelines have already been announced, but please allow me to communicate this important request again.

When posting anything that strongly relates to the gameā€™s story on social media and video sharing sites, I ask that you please make sure to include spoiler warnings so as not to affect the experience of those who have yet to play the game. I would also be very grateful if you could refrain from using any scenes from those vital parts of the story in your video thumbnails.

We deliberately did not restrict the ā€œrecordā€ and ā€œshareā€ functions for any areas in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as we want you to be able to share and comment on your gameplay experiences. Still, I am making this request to ask for respect towards all the players out there who want to avoid any spoilers until they have personally completed the story.

Full details of the sharing guidelines can be found at the URL in this post. I ask for your understanding and cooperation so that everyone who has waited so long for this day can enjoy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to the fullest.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024. Its demo is live now on the PlayStation Store. The gameā€™s PS5 exclusivity arrangement expires on May 29, 2024.
