Before you start Wii Fit you need to calibrate the balance board to your weight. The game asks you to step off the board so it zeroes itself then you step on it. If you slouch or shift your weight in an awkward position during the calibration the balance board will register that as your zero point. I usually stand at an angle with my weight shifted on my left and that messed up the calibration during the Yoga demos. The second time around I tried standing perfectly straight and that made the balance board work much better.

The Wii Balance Board is a wireless device and after some extra questions during the demo I found out it requires 4 AA batteries to power it. When I asked about battery life I couldn’t get a clear answer on how long the batteries would last. Wii Fit comes with a single balance board and the rep told me balance board will not be a one shot deal. There are plans to develop other titles with it in mind besides Wii Fit. A surfing game seems like a good fit for the balance board or a Wii-make of Kirby Tilt & Tumble. What kind of game would you like to see with the balance board?
