Namco Bandai spun the Tekken series off into the ever popular trading card game genre. Tekken Card Tournament is a turn based fighting game. You have three options: focus, strike, and block. Instead of relying on just frames, Tekken Card Tournament is based on rock, paper, and scissors. After you choose an attack Kazuya or whoever you choose as your fighter will execute it. Tekken Card Tournament has a multiplayer mode and in it’s real time.

While the game is a free download extra card packs are an in-app purchase. Just like trading card booster packs you don’t know which cards you’ll get. In June, players will be able to buy packs of physical cards. You can scan QR codes on these cards to transfer them into the game. Why should you get physical cards instead? Well, you have a better chance of getting cool cards this way.

Physical cards also have augmented reality capabilities. You take a photo with your iPhone or Android device and a 3D model of a Tekken character will join you in the picture.
