Tekken 8 Getting Tekken Shop, Story Mode for DLC Characters

The Tekken Talk Live presentation went over the Tekken 8 new additions like the Tekken Shop for new costumes and skins and DLC characters and their story mode. The shop will be a part of the late-February to early-March 2024 2nd Update, while Eddy will appear in Spring 2024 and be followed by the story expansion between May and Summer 2024.

With the Tekken 8 Tekken Shop, both paid and free content will appear between once and twice per month. The first free content will involve a Uniqlo UT x Tekken pack with avatar and character shirts.

As for things that can be bought with the Tekken Coins (TC) paid currency, a few were teased in the footage on-stream. Here’s the list of items that appeared:

  • Avatar Skin: King – 400 TC
  • Avatar Skin: Raven – 400 TC
  • Avatar Skin: Reina – 400 TC
  • Avatar Skin: Shaheen – 400 TC
  • Jin Costume 01 – 400 TC
  • Jun Costume 01 – 400 TC
  • Kazuya Costume 01 – 400 TC
  • Xianyu Costume 01 – 400 TC

And here are some screenshots from the stream:

Producer Katsuhiro Harada took to social media to offer more insight into how the DLC characters story mode will work in Tekken 8. It will involve free “expansion packs” for “The Dark Awakens” storyline, with Eddy’s story arriving first.

Finally, here’s the latest roadmap image for Tekken 8. The late-February and early-March 2024 phase includes a patch with requested fixes from players, the shop, and the in-game collab with Uniqlo. April 2024 marks the appearance of Tekken World Tour 2024 and other updates.

After that, we’ll see more post-launch support and Eddy as a playable character. The DLC characters season 1 roadmap for Tekken 8 showed people are planned for Summer 2024, Autumn 2024, and Winter 2024.

Tekken 8 is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
