The retro-inspired Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge game is in development at Tribute, with Dotemu publishing. The game will be a side-scrolling beat’em up for up to four players, much like past TMNT arcade and console games. It will also use the original 1987 cartoon designs. A release window isn’t available, but it will come to both unspecified consoles and PCs.
In the game, people will follow Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michaelangelo as the quartet cuts through Shredder and his minions. New York will be the setting, as usual, though a Dimension X appearance was teased in the announcement too. The early footage also showed that Bebop and Rocksteady will appear as bosses. The background images also showed April O’Neil reporting on TVs. There were also segments showing their mentor, Master Splinter.
Here’s the first trailer for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. It begins with an animated segment before showing off actual gameplay.
And here are some initial screenshots showing all of the characters in action.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is in development for “consoles” and the PC. Some of the more recent TMNT cameos in games included a Splatoon 2 appearance and roles as fighters in Injustice 2.
