Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires is an upcoming expansion that brings more strategic and tactical elements along with other features to the game. In this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine, Tecmo Koei shared a little more on what else we’ll be getting from it.

While we still don’t have a release date for the game, the magazine reports that, as far as new commanders go, either one or more from the selection of Xun Yu, Cheng Pu, Lu Kang, Gao Shun, Wang Ping, and Zhuge Jin will join Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires.

The report also indicates that you’ll also be able to send order to give commanders some back up defense. Additionally, similar to Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires, the marriage system is still available, and once you have a kid they can inherit the abilities of the parents, and used on the next play.

The editing feature in the game is also being enhanced, as the regiment colors, soldiers, and horses can now be edited. Famitsu says that a demo for edits, and another with a co-op feature will be released for the game.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires will release sometime in 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
