People with the Nintendo Switch version of Team Sonic Racing may have noticed it is slightly different than the versions released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Namely, the opening cutscene is absent. However, Sega has offered an explanation as to why the video isn’t there. It has to do with a space issue. (Thanks, USGamer!)

The cartridge sizes are the reason why the Team Sonic Racing opening is missing in action. Nintendo Switch game cards are available in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB varieties right now. As the Nintendo website points out, this game is 6.6GB. This means it would use an 8GB card. If you visit the PlayStation Store, it lists it as a 13.97GB download. The size of the opening movie would likely have forced the Nintendo Switch version onto a 16GB game card.
