World Uniform: Costume Fes, a free-to-play PlayStation Vita game with online action and card battles, from Danganronpa developer. 4Gamer gives us a look at how the game is played.
Before taking a look, the title in Japanese for World Uniform is “Sekai Seifuku,” which is also a pun, as it can also mean “world domination”. Seifuku is costume or conquest, depending on the kanji. The more you know!
In World Uniform: Costume Fes, a mysterious virus somehow wiped off all the men and boys from the planet. So now that there are only females left… they to duke it out in heated costume wars.
The game is split into three parts of “Base Reinforcement,” “Co-op Multiplayer Action,” and “Card Battle”. With these three features, you’ll be bolstering your units and conquering everyone around you.
The Base is where you’ll be enhancing your characters and equipment as a way to power up your deck.
You’ll be able to spend currency and material to level up your base. Doing so will make it possible to create new gear that will help you out in combat. The higher you level it up, the more material you’ll need to level it up some more. Production facilities can also be upgraded to produce more material in less time.
There are other facilities that can be created and upgraded to help out your action characters, gear development, and more.
By participating in the Co-op Multiplayer Action mode, you can acquire new characters and equipment.
The way you’ll be defeating opponents in this is by… tearing uniforms off other girls, and forcing them to wear one of your own. Yeah, that’s pretty brutal.
This mode has up to four player co-op, and there are also co-op moves that can be done amongst players.
Bosses can be found at the end of stages, and you can use your acquired cards to use skills that just might come in handy in these fights.
The Card Battle mode lets you take on other players across the nation to climb the rankings. Before going into battle, you’ll be required to place four cards. Their placement will also have a factor in how well they perform.
Once you’re ready, choose an area you’ll want to attack. Skills and sub-skills can also be selected for the battle. While the card game is pretty simple, it’ll also have plenty of strategic factors that will go into it.
Finally, here’s a look at some of the special cards:
