The Ace Attorney series is headed to the big screen, Capcom revealed today, with Japanese director, Takashi Miike, in charge of creating Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – The Movie.

Miike will be joined by cast members Hiroki Narimiya (as Phoenix), Mirei Kiritani (his assistant, Maya Fey), and Takumi Saito (as prosecutor Miles Edgeworth). Note that these are the localized names for the characters; in the Japanese versions of the Ace Attorney games, they all have Japanese names.

The movie is planned for an early spring 2012 release at Toho Cinemas across Japan.

Mirei Kiritani certainly has the hair for the job.

This last one is not a Capcom-endorsed image, but that’s Takumi Saito (Miles Edgeworth). Concerned fangirls (and boys) can find his resumé here.

Food for thought:

We wonder if the producers will include the Court Suite in the film’s soundtrack?
