Takara Tomy will release a yo-yo ice cream maker that looks like a Poke Ball or a Master Ball. It’ll come out on April 25, 2024 and pre-orders are currently open. [Thanks, Hobby Dengeki!]
The Poke Ball and Master Ball yo-yo ice cream maker costs 2640 JPY each. That would be approximately $17.30. When you purchase one, it’ll come with the ice cream maker, a spoon, a string for the yo-yo, a recipe book, and an instruction manual. Since the target audience is children ages six and up, it will be quite easy to use if you want to make your own ice cream.
In order to make ice cream in this yo-yo, you’ll need to put in ice, salt, water, and then some sort of flavoring ingredient. For example, you can put in orange juice for orange ice cream. After that, you’ll simply need to play with the yo-yo for about three minutes and you’ll have ice cream once you open it up. This is the exact same method that some people use to make ice cream at home without a machine. Usually, people use mason jars for this technique. However, with this toy, you can make a nice summer treat while having fun at the same time.
The Takara Tomy Poke Ball and Master Ball ice cream maker is open for pre-order and it’ll come out on April 25, 2024. If you want a Poke Ball but don’t want it to make snacks, the Tama Art University Bureau will run a workshop where you can design your own Poke Ball.
