Veteran voice actor Colleen O’Shaughnessey will reprise the role of Tails in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie. O’Shaughnessey announced the news via her official Twitter. The movie will release on April 8, 2022.

O’Shaughnessey has voiced Miles “Tails” Prower since Sonic Boom in 2014. Since then, she has voiced the character in other Sonic media including Sonic Forces and Team Sonic Racing. Additionally, she also occasionally voices the character Charmy Bee.
Additionally, she voiced Tails in a brief appearance at the end of the original Sonic movie. The announcement confirms that she will be returning to the role for the Sonic movie sequel. As its logo suggests, Tails will likely play a major role in the upcoming movie’s story. O’Shaughnessey will join Idris Elba as Knuckles and Ben Schwartz, who will return as the voice of Sonic.
Notably, the prominent voice actor has played characters in various other popular media as well. O’Shaughnessey voiced Sora Takenouchi from the English dub of the original Digimon anime. She also voiced characters in video games, such as Genis Sage in Tales of Symphonia and Akane in Persona 5 Strikers.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will appear in theatres on April 8, 2022. The first Sonic movie is available to stream on Netflix in certain regions.
