Final Fantasy XIII—the first game in the trilogy—is available for pre-purchase on Steam now, and the game’s Steam page lists the system requirements you’ll need to run it. Here’s a look at what Square Enix feel you’ll need to play the game:

 

Minimum Requirements:

OS: Windows XP SP2 or later

Processor: 2GHz Dual Core CPU

Memory: 1 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce 8 Series/ ATI Radeon HD 2000 series VRAM 256MB or later

DirectX: Version 9.0c

Hard Drive: 30 GB available space

Sound Card: Sound card compatible with DirectX 9.0c

 

Recommended Requirements:

OS: Windows Vista/ 7/ 8

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad (2.66 GHz)/ AMD Phenom II X4 (2.8 GHz) processor

Memory: 1 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 460/ ATI Radeon HD 5870

DirectX: Version 11

Hard Drive: 30 GB available space

Sound Card: DirectX 11 compatible sound card

Additional Notes: A game controller using Xinput is reccomended for this game. (If using a DirectInput based controller, please use the driver side key configuration to adjust settings as required )

 

Final Fantasy XIII will be available on October 9th, 2014. The other two games in the trilogy will be available by Spring 2015, but no specific dates have been announced.
