With all of the talk about Street Fighter IV it’s easy to forget Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix even exists. Summer is almost over and the PlayStation Network / Xbox Live Arcade remake is likely to miss its summer 2008 release window. What’s going on with the project? Rey Jimenez, Associate Producer at Capcom, tells the Street Fighter Blog, “We are in the home stretch. We’re basically closing out all the bugs that came up in the open beta and a few other open issues… We’re on track to release the game this year and barring any unforeseen catastrophic event, that should not be changing.”

A “catastrophe” would be if Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix didn’t get released this year and Street Fighter IV came out before it.
