Since a sizeable amount of attention has been turned towards the Wii, DS Lite and the recently released New Super Mario Bros it is easy to forget that the Gamecube still has titles on the horizon. Super Paper Mario pulls the thin paper style straight from the Paper Mario RPG series, but it isn’t exactly an RPG. From the early pictures it looks more like a side scrolling game with RPG elements blended in the game. There are eight worlds to explore with Mario. On top of playing as Mario players will take a turn at Princess Peach and arch nemesis Bowser. The biggest surprise about the game is that it is coming out in a mere two months in Japan. Super Paper Mario has a tentative release date of August 13, 2006. North America doesn’t have to wait too long to try out what looks like the last Mario game on the Cube since it is scheduled for a release on October 9th. Check below for a gallery of Super Paper Mario screenshots and we’ll bring you more details on Super Paper Mario in the near future.
