What might possibly be the real final Splatfest has come and gone. The Splatoon 2 Super Mario Splatfest is over, and we have a winner. This event asked people which of two power-ups they preferred. Pearl was the champion for the Super Mushroom, while Marina backed the Super Star. Well, Super Mushroom, and by extension Pearl, won.
Here’s Nintendo’s announcement. While more people voted for Marina and Super Star, the Normal and Pro performances by team Super Mushroom were just better. There’s no official victory artwork with Pearl or Marina yet, but the official Twitter account shared a Super Mushroom image.
The Splatoon 2 #Splatfest results are in, and #TeamSuperMushroom goes big with a 2-1 win!

With the Super Mario Splatfest over, that means there are no additional events on the horizon for Splatoon 2. It was a part of multiple supplemental Splatfests added after the “final” Chaos versus Order event back in July 2019.
Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch. As for the future of the series, back in January 2020, a New Year’s message suggested the Salmonids, the enemies from Splatoon 2’s Salmon Run, were in danger.
