Super Mario Maker Has Surpassed One Million In Total Worldwide Sales

Nintendo announced today that their Wii U title Super Mario Maker that released on September 11 has already surpassed the one million mark in total worldwide sales.

 

Out of the over 1 million units of Super Mario Maker that has been sold around the world since its launch, the “fan” developers have created more than 2.2 million Super Mario courses, which have been played nearly 75 million times total.

“For Mario fans around the world, including myself, Super Mario Maker was a dream 30 years in the making,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “The game has captured and unlocked the imaginations of gaming fans of all ages and brought their dedication to Nintendo to a whole new level.”

 

Nintendo is celebrating the  Super Mario franchise’s 30th anniversary this year, and also revealed that it has sold more than 310 million units around the world.
