Viz Media has a release date for its Super Mario Bros Manga Mania volume. People will be able to pick up the English version of some of Yukio Sawada’s comics on December 8, 2020. The collection will cost $9.99, and Amazon pre-orders are already open..

This collection has actually been a long time coming. Viz first announced it would release a localized collection back in March 2020. At the time, there was a December 8, 2020 release date assigned to the Amazon product page, but it was never officially confirmed. (Which could have been an issue, considering the pandemic delayed other books and items.)

Now, to clarify, this is only, as Viz noted, a collection of some of the Super Mario-Kun stories from Sawada’s 55+ volume manga series. The full run actually has arcs based on different Super Mario games. The earliest volumes, for example, covered Super Mario World, while the most recent volumes tap into the Nintendo Switch’s Super Mario Odyssey for their storylines.

Super Mario Bros Manga Mania will launch in North America on December 8, 2020. Some of its other Nintendo-related books on the way are Ask Iwata: Words of Wisdom from Nintendo’s Legendary CEO and volumes of Splatoon: Squid Kids Comedy Show. (The first one of the latter is already available in North America.)
