Super Mario Bros Boxes Will Be Used for (Some) Amazon Shipments

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Amazon and Nintendo are teaming up for an odd sort of crossover that only a select number of people will randomly get to see as they engage in some holiday season shopping in November 2020. Super Mario Bros boxes are now being used by the retailer. When you order a product—any sort of item—from Amazon, Mario and Luigi might show up at your door. [Thanks, Cheap Ass Gamer!]

This all came up on the new 35th Super Mario Bros. Amazon page. There are an array of Mario-related My Nintendo Missions in effect, and one involved visiting both the Amazon page and Nintendo’s site to earn 100 Platinum Points that could be put toward rewards. On its mission details tab, the Super Mario Bros Amazon boxes appeared. Any purchase could potentially use one in November.

The page also noted that this is an entirely random box. It didn’t mention how many Amazon will have or what sizes might be available and used. It did clarify that, “…Purchasing Nintendo products will not increase the possibility of receiving a Super Mario Bros. branded box.”

The Super Mario Bros 35th anniversary events are essentially in effect until March 31, 2021. That’s when products like Super Mario Bros 35, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and the Game & Watch Super Mario Bros units will no longer be sold.
