Super Mario Bros. 3 Is Coming Back To Stores… As A Download Card In Japan

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Nintendo sells cards that are redeemable for download versions of retail games like Animal Crossing and New Super Mario Bros. 2. I believe Super Mario Bros. 3 – the NES/Famicom  game – is the only classic Mario game to get its own download card. You can purchase this item for 500 yen ($5), the same price as Super Mario Bros. 3, from Tsutaya stores starting on September 19.

While the card is a collectable, you will want to redeem the code on within 150 days of purchasing the card. Tsutayas will also carry two Famicom controller Nintendo Points cards worth 1,000 yen each. Put these together and you have a cardboard Famicom!
